Anderson & Roe will be performing tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Opelika Center for the Performing Arts.

Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe are the most thrilling young duo-pianists on stage today with their adrenalized performances revolutionizing the concert experience for the 21st century. Both graduates of The Juilliard School who have made guest appearances on MTV and NPR, their concert arrangements run the gamut from Carmen to Billie Jean, and the Blue Danube Waltz to Star Wars Fantasy. Anderson and Roe’s interactive website has generated tremendous enthusiasm among fans and Internet bloggers, and their wildly creative, self-produced music videos have been viewed millions of times on YouTube alone. Their joyous camaraderie, refined artistry, and jaw-dropping precision as limbs are flying, are dazzling audiences around the world in their personal quest – in their own words – to free the world from the constraints of sleep-inducing concerts.

Selected works from the collection of Dwight and Helen Carlisle on exhibit at the Jule Collins Smith

The Painter's Subjects - Landscape, Figure, Still Life: Selected Works from the Collection of Dwight and Helen Carlisle is now on exhibit through May 18th at the Jule Collins Smith Museum.

JCSM’s ongoing exhibition series, Auburn Collects, showcases significant private art collections in the Auburn community. Our latest installation in this series features a selection of works from the collection of Dwight and Helen Carlisle. Important early supporters of the museum, the Carlisles continue to express their love of art through continued patronage of the museum and sensitive collecting activity. With interests ranging from Old Master to contemporary practice, the Carlisles have made a singular emphasis on the fine and decorative arts of Ireland and Scotland. The Painters’ Subjects focuses on but a small portion of this distinctive collection to examine traditional genres—landscape, figures, and still-life—that have held artists’ attention for centuries.
