Union Springs woman arrested for allegedly passing a forged check in Auburn

 

On Tuesday, May 21, 2013 the Auburn Police Division arrested Jamea A. Mason, 33, of Union Springs, Alabama, on warrants charging her with two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.  Mason’s arrest stems from the investigation of a police report dated January 2012 in which a Union Springs resident stated that someone stole personal checks from her and then passed them at an Auburn business.  Mason was transported from the Houston County jail where she was being held on an unrelated charge to the Lee County Detention Center where she is currently being held on a $6,000 bond.

Two Birmingham-area men arrested on robbery, controlled substance charges

 

The Auburn Police Division arrested Bradford Alan Blount, 22, from Vestavia, AL. and Dennis Elder, 22, from Birmingham, AL. and charged them both with Robbery in the First Degree and Trafficking of a Controlled Substance.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, the Auburn Police Division responded to a robbery call in the 600 block of Dekalb St. in Auburn.  The victim called 911, advising that he had just been robbed and gave information on the suspects; a vehicle description was also obtained. Through further investigation Bradford Blount and Dennis Elder were later identified and taken into custody. Upon contacting Elder at his former residence in Auburn, narcotics were located resulting in an additional charge of trafficking of a controlled substance.  Blount and Elder were transported to the Lee County Detention Center where they are being held pending their bond.  The bond amounts for Blount and Elder are $150,000.

Auburn man arrested on burglary and other charges

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013 the Auburn Police Division arrested Jacob A. Rabren, 28, of Auburn on warrants charging him with attempted Burglary 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglar’s Tools.  His arrest stems from the investigation of an incident that occurred the previous day. 

On May 13 at approximately 5:20 a.m. officers responded to a call in the 500 block of Webster Road in reference to a person attempting to break into a residence.  The suspect, later identified as Rabren, fled the scene on foot but was contacted in the area by responding officers minutes later.  He was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication and Rendering False Information to Law Enforcement. 

Rabren was transported to the Lee County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $6,500 bond.

Two arrested for separate theft, burglary cases

 

On Friday, May 10, 2013 the Auburn Police Division arrested Jamal A. Hutchinson, 18, of Auburn on warrants charging him with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Property 2nd Degree, and Theft of Property 3rd Degree.  His arrest stems from the investigation of two residential burglaries occurring earlier this same date in the 500 block of Greentree Terrace.  Hutchinson was transported to the Lee County Detention Center where his bond was set at $12,000.  At the time of his arrest on Friday, Hutchinson was out of jail on bond for a previous residential burglary arrest from December 2012.

Opelika man charged with passing a forged check

 

On Wednesday, May 8, 2013 the Auburn Police Division arrested Marcus E. Tatum, 29, of Opelika, Alabama, on a warrant charging him with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.  His arrest stems from the investigation of a police report dated April 10, 2013 in which a local bank reported that two men came into the bank and passed forged checks.  Tatum was transported to the Lee County Detention Center where his bond was set at $3,000.  The other suspect, Joshua M. Strickland, 31, of Auburn, was arrested April 18, 2013 on the same charge.
