2 Auburn police officers promoted | News

AUBURN, AL - Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson announced Tuesday the promotions of two officers assigned to the division effective January 2, 2013. 

Sgt. Slone Maddox will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and move from the Community Services Unit to the Patrol Section where he will serve as a shift commander. 

Cpl. Darrell Downing will be promoted to the rank of Sergeant and remain in the Patrol Section as a shift supervisor. 

Sgt. Maddox has been an officer with the City of Auburn since November 1989 and Cpl. Downing since April 2006. 

“These officers have dedicated themselves to serving the citizens of Auburn and I know they will continue to do so in their new positions,” said Chief Dawson.
