MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP)- One woman and 16 men will be interviewed to fill two openings as Auburn University trustees. The Auburn Trustee Selection Committee, headed by Gov. Robert Bentley, picked the 17 candidates Tuesday from nearly 100 who applied to fill the openings.
All 17 were recommended by at least one member of the selection committee for interviews. The committee will interview them and pick two on Jan. 31.
Chosen for interviews for the seat being vacated by John Blackwell were Jerry Batts, Mike Demaioribus, William "Jack" Fite, Sam Givhan, Macke Mauldin, Goodrich Rogers, Tom Stanton and Larry Stutts.
Chosen for the interviews for the seat being vacated by Samuel Ginn were Dave Dennis, Melissa Brown Herkt, Brian Lawrence, Tommy Martin, Dan Moultrie, Howard Nelson, Ed Reynolds, Dennis Ross and Wayne Smith.
